Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules

On 6^th and 7^th of April 2010, the Immigration Rules will be amended to incorporate the following changes:

·         ESOL qualifications to be obtained from accredited colleges for the purposes of the English Language requirement

·         Asylum seekers to be prevented from claiming humanitarian protection if there are serious reasons why their presence in the UK would be undesirable

·         Eliminating the requirement for asylum seekers to sign interview records

·         Clarifying interview procedures for unaccompanied asylum seeking minors

·         Lowering the age for marriage to 18 for members of the armed forces and their partners

·         Adding Monaco to the Youth Mobility Scheme
