Human Rights Fresh Claims _ Recent Case Law Further Submissions Permission to work _ Fresh Claims   It is now established that if you are an asylum seeker who has submitted a fresh claim and no decision has been reached for a year, under European law you can now obtain a right to work. This comes after the dismissal of the Home Office appeal in the case of ZO (Somalia) & Ors, R (on the application of) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2010] UKSC 36 (28 July 2010) .
