Applicants seeking entry to the UK on the basis of obtaining private medical treatment will need to satisfy the requirements as laid out in paragraphs 51 to 56 of the Immigration Rules. Basically, applicants will need to satisfy the following:
· Provide evidence that you have made the necessary arrangements for the treatment;
· Show that you have enough money to cover the said treatment;
· Demonstrate that you have enough money to maintain yourself and any dependants throughout your stay in the UK without any recourse to public funds and
· Show an intention to return to your home country at the end of your treatment
Applicants are not permitted to benefit from National Health Services (NHS) care. If treatment beyond six months is required then the applicant will need to apply for an extension before the expiry of their visa.
Documentation required
Applicants are advised to provide the following:
· Evidence that s/he has made the necessary medical arrangements
· Confirmation of how long the treatment will last
· Letter from his/her doctor confirming her condition and the treatment required
· Evidence of maintenance and that the applicant can afford the said treatment
