Paralegals

 

Cihan Aciyan
 
 
Cihan is studying his second year of law at Hertfordshire University.  He joined Ergen and Sharif in September 2009 as a paralegal working under the direct supervision of the Directors.  Cihan carries out many administrative duties within the Company. He has also attended Court to observe hearings and has shadowed the Directors in their meetings with clients. Cihan has a keen interest in the area of business immigration and hopes to gain further experience in this field.
 
Lorin Sulaiman
 
Lorin is of Kurdish origin from Syria. She is a 2nd year LLB Law student at the University of Westminster. Lorin speaks fluent Kurdish and Arabic and is thoroughly enjoying her placement at Ergen & Sharif.  

 

She is also an Advocacy and Support Volunteer with London Detainee Support Group, where her role varies from working in the office to attending workshops in the detention centres and also translating and providing practical and emotional support.
 
 

She is hoping to either become a solicitor in the future or work with charities and groups such as the UN and Amnesty International in the Refugee sector in order to help other refugees and make a change in this world.

 

Lorin’s ambition is to change other people’s lives for the better and to achieve justice for the vulnerable having been through the asylum and immigration process herself.
 
 
Jack Martin
 
Jack Martin has just concluded his first year of BA History at Queen  Mary University. He joined the company in June 2010 for four weeks to gain an insight into immigration law. While working for the company he assisted directors in legal research, clerical and administrative tasks  and attended tribunals to hear the outcome of cases. He is interested in undertaking a GDL after his completion of BA History with the hope of becoming either a solicitor or barrister.

 
 
 
Ruken Sahin

Ruken is a first year law student currently studying at Brunel University. She joined the firm in April 2010 in order to gain some experience in the field of immigration law and paralegal work itself. She undergoes a variety of administrative duties such as writing perusals, answering phone calls and shadowing clients in meetings. Ruken is hoping to pursue a career as a solicitor in the future either in immigration or intellectual property. Whatever path Ruken chooses, she hopes to bring positive changes to the lives of others.

 

 

Zeid Alzoubaidi

Zeid has just recently finished his first year of LLB Law at BPP Law School. In order to gain some insight of the life of Immigration Law, he joined the firm, Ergen & Sharif, in July 2010. Zeid has been very enthusiastic about the work involved within the firm and has shown great interest in the life of an immigration lawyer and the paralegal work with which he got involved in directly.

Zeid wishes to become a competent solicitor and to help others who have been wronged in life.

“I may not be able to change the whole world but one day I may be able to change someone’s world”.
